Volcanoes throwing out chunks of hot molten lava the size of a truck are awe inspiring sights. There are more than 1500 potentially active volcanoes in the world today and ten percent of these volcanoes are located in the United States. Students learn about Mount St. Helens, Kilauea, and other active volcanoes. They also learn about the different types of eruptions volcanoes produce.
