In this unit of study students learn about the invention of the telescope which allowed people to observe celestial objects invisible to the unaided eye. They will earn about the space age that started with the launching of Sputnik I by the Soviet Union. They will also learn about our Solar System, life cycles of stars, galaxies and the Hubble Space telescope.
