The rock cycle is the recycling of rocks from one group of rocks into another group through natural processes. These processes take place deep in the ocean, under great mountain chains and in volcanoes. Students learn to identify igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks based on the characteristics that make each group unique. The hands-on activities and rocks in the kit are a fun way for students to learn about the rock cycle after reading about it in their book.
