There are approximately three thousand minerals. One hundred of these minerals are commonly found throughout the world. Only twenty minerals are found in great abundance on Earth. Students learn identification keys that help them unlock the mystery of minerals using the materials in their mineral kit. In this fun kit they learn how to conduct simple tests on minerals that help them identify unknown minerals through a process of elimination.
