Igneous Rocks (Volcanic rocks)
Igneous rocks form during volcanic eruptions, which are some of the most awe-inspiring events on Earth. Students learn to identify igneous rocks that were blown out of a volcano during an eruption, formed in a lava flow or cooled underground. Students also learn how crystal size and color are major keys in identifying different igneous rocks. Additional hands-on activities on igneous rocks are available in our ACTIVITY books.
